Forest Yoga Classes

There is something magical about practising yoga in the forest. The forest always receives us just the way we are. By witnessing nature’s cyclical changes, we’re invited to reflect on our own ever changing reality. The forest is never silent but whispers to us gently, so that we can breathe freely and let go of burdens that we no longer need to carry. Here, you can simply relax and allow healing to happen.

WHEN:
By request only. For a minimum of 5 people. Please contact us to arrange your classes.

COST:
$30-35 per person.

FORMAT:
The classes consists of asanas, a forest walk, meditation and deep relaxation. If the weather gets rough, the class will be re-scheduled to a new suitable date.

LOCATION:
The Sanctuary is located in Barkers Creek, which is 7 minutes to drive from the town centre of Castlemaine, VIC. The exact address will be sent to you upon confirmation of your booking.

IMPORTANT:

  • You need to be reasonably fit and healthy to be able to walk on uneven grounds, including uphill and downhill. Although the level of exertion is not significant, these classes are not recommended for total beginners.

  • Wear closed shoes that are suitable for outdoors, such as hiking boots or runners.

  • You need to be comfortable outdoors and understand that the forest is a living system that comes with added experiences that you would not have in a regular indoor yoga class (such as meeting animals, various weather conditions and different risks).

Other yoga classes

Tailored yoga classes are available to community groups, workplaces and the corporate sector, and we can arrange instructors to come to you. Some example include:

  • Corporate Yoga: Great for workplaces and teams

  • Chair yoga: A gentle and low-impact practice, great as a lunchtime class or for people with reduced mobility

  • General yoga for the veteran community

Classes can be tailored to suit the group size, location, etc. and pricing depends on the program. Please contact us to arrange your classes.
